I think almost all conservatives wither refuse or just lie. People on the fence probably also lie since supporting Trump is considered a mortal social sin, like supporting Sheriff Bart in “Blazing Saddles” (which could never be made today).
They said Hillary would win Texas too. How’s that turn out?
The last time Texas voted for a Democratic candidate was the
1976 Presidential election when Jimmy Carter won 51.14% of

Anecdotally I heard market testing showed americans related more to blue than red in political charts so voila! the colors were switched from then on. That’s not accurate.
If you to were read the methodology of this poll, you would have read the top line:
“Interviews were conducted June 20-23, 2020 among a random sample of 1,001 Texas voters
contacted on landlines (240) and cellphones (761).”
Faux news. Don’t trust this, Texas will vote heavily for trump
Texas had more elderly Democrats in those days. They have all died out. It is a red state, but the future does depend on what becomes of Hispanics. Many of them are very conservative, pro life, Catholic, and hard-working. Their history Generally speaking is not one of welfare and food stamps.
Texas used to go to the dems. that’s the point.
