Because of the red “X” on it?
“Between 1868 and 1900, Florida’s state flag consisted of a white field with the state seal in the center. During the late 1890s, Governor Francis P. Fleming suggested that a red cross be added, so that the banner did not appear to be a white flag of truce or surrender when hanging still on a flagpole.”
The revolutionary left needs to be counter punched and put off balance. Direct attacks on Robert Byrd, Woodrow Wilson, slavery connection to leftits Universities, etc. Get Dems playing defense and obviously they won’t be on offense.
Eventually, there will be nothing left but MLK and Byrd statues...and a lot of frustrated pigeons.
They’ll eventually come for MLK.
They already voted to keep it.
What's the point in voting on anything if the end result will always be the same?
That would surprise me.
He wasn’t radical enough.
Last night Chism Strategies conducted a statewide survey to measure voter opinion on the current state flag. We found likely voters are statistically tied on whether to keep or replace the state’s flag that contains the Confederate battle emblem.
To fully understand the significance of these survey results one must consider that 19 years ago, nearly two thirds of voters (64.6%) rejected the idea of a new state flag.
About five years ago, a Chism Strategies statewide poll found that [1] only 39% of voters agreed that the current state flag limited outside investment and hurt tourism. 48% disagreed. Moreover, 55% of voters felt the 2011 referendum had settled the issue while only 27% wanted a new vote.
In the fall of 2017, a Chism Strategies statewide poll [2] found that for the first time ever supporters of the state flag were less than a majority (49.1%) but they still out polled those who wanted a new flag (40.7%). We saw for the first time that a majority of whites under age 55 supported changing the state flag.
About the Survey: This survey was conducted June 10, 2020. The sample size was 540 with a margin of error of 4.38% with 50.4% from landlines and 49.6% from mobile phones. We weighted results to reflect the likely partisan, age, race and gender composition of the general election turnout. Whites comprise 65% and African Americans make up 33% of the sample. The partisan mix is 48% Republican, /38% Dem. And 14% Ind. Chism Strategies undertook this survey with no input nor funding from any outside individual or organization.
Here is a guide to Texas property taxes and appraisal for you:

I have successfully used the appeal procedure to reduce several proposed tax increases on houses I have owned in Texas. Usually because the comparable houses they used to justify my increase were not comparable or they did not consider other sales.
I do envy your 2% a year increase on appraised values. Ten percent a year is the limit here. However, that hasn’t stopped Californians from selling their expensive, much smaller houses in California and buying much bigger houses in Texas for the same money.
Last year we sold our House in Southern CA to a Dentist who moved from TX. He still has a House in Dallas that he had built and he is now renting it out.
I think his Wife wanted to move to CA to be near Family and he went along. Probably a happy Wife, happy Life scenario.
There were for more Californians than Texans at a new home-owner meeting in our somewhat affluent area in Texas when we moved in. We have had several Californians as neighbors in our present house, all of whom mentioned the lower Texas home prices. One California family in particular mentioned the terrible school system they left in Southern California compared to what they found here.
With all of the Californians here in our Texas neighborhood, one downside was that our voting precinct barely went Democrat over Republican.

Yeah, that’s the downside. We lived in formerly Conservative South Orange County. When the Rats won every Congressional Seat, or should I say “harvested” Votes and won all the seats, I just gave up.
Liberalism is like a Parasite. It kills the Host and then moves on to infect and kill another Host.
We now live in Adams County, MS which is full of Democrats, especially Black Democrats. Hillary Won the County by over ten points I believe. Nobody runs as a Republican here, you either run as a Rat or Independent.
If we stay in MS we will be moving to the Coast which is more Conservative from what I’ve been told.
I say the word “South” should be banned.....
The largest appropriation of an impoverished Mississippi in 1866 was for prosthetic limbs.
FU
Absolutely. Let the residents of MS decide, just as they did in 2001.
I grew up in MS but live in East TN now.
But certainly would if I still lived there.
