WASHINGTON — The Senate has approved the nomination of a Mississippi judge to a federal appeals court, the 200th federal judge named by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the Republican-controlled chamber. It’s the highest number of judicial nominees confirmed at this stage of a presidency in four decades.
Cory Wilson was elevated to a seat on the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal despite Democratic objections that he has a record of working to undermine voting rights of African Americans and other minorities.
Approval came on a nearly party-line, 52-48 vote Wednesday. Maine Sen. Susan Collins was the only Republican to vote against Wilson.

I’m not a big fan of Mitch McConnell but he’s done a good job here. Credit where credit is due.
After Trump is re-elected this fall, there will be a bunch of new Circuit Court vacancies from retirement of DemocRAT appointees who have held back hoping Trump is not re-elected.

The fact that it was 52-48 is encouraging. That tells me he’s probably going to be faithful to the constitution.

This should be Mitch McConnell's legacy. He's done yeoman's work here helping our President get this task done. This is how courts get reshaped for decades to come.
She's up for re-election, that's why she voted NO after voting for Brett Kavanaugh.
Not only that, he held up a lot of Obama’s nominee so that by the time Trump took over, there were lots of vacancies.

Considering one of Trump’s Supreme Court picks turned out to be a raving leftist, I’ll hold my celebration for a while longer.
