Greece warns Turkey that they are ready for war

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 A.M.) – On Saturday, the Greek Army announced its readiness to respond to any steps by Turkey, threatening to “burn everyone who sets foot on Greek soil.”

A Greek news website quoted the statements of the Chief of Staff of the Greek Army, Constantius Florus, who did not rule out the occurrence of a “military conflict with Turkey in the event that Ankara proceeded to cross the red lines,” noting that “the military conflict is possible, and no one can exclude this possibility. And if anything like that happens, this will not be limited to one point, but will widen immediately. ”

Florus also stated that “whoever attacks the Greek armed forces will pay a heavy price, and the neighbors know this,” stressing that “Athens knows what to do in the event of a Greek attack.”

He announced the Greek Minister of Defense is ready to do anything to protect its sovereign rights, including military action against Ankara.

Tensions between Greece and Turkey have recently reached a decade-long-high after Ankara began the exploration process of the eastern Mediterranean waters.

Greece has created an alliance with several nations in the eastern Mediterranean, including Cyprus and Egypt, to contain Turkey, despite Ankara’s warnings to Athens.

Was thinking the same thing, I’m seeing a whole lot of different weapons in that picture.

Hope they have good ammo logistics up the line for all those.

Greece’s economy has been moribund for so long. They can’t spend much on defense.

More like Trojan War part VI. Turks v. Byzantines, Greek War for Independence, First Balkan War, and Greek-Turk war after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.

Those Greeks have quite an assortment of weapons, including shotguns. They must be some kind of commando unit.

Anyway, good luck Greeks. Hope they don’t end up like Leonidas and the Spartans at Thermopylae.

Turkey wants to flood Europe with refugees and is using Greece to do that.

They also want to recreate the Ottoman Empire.

So figure it out.

Best case scenario is Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia all fight each other.

After Desert Storm I noticed that Arabs retreat and surrender a lot - not just then. Then they sneak around and plant cowardly bombs.

Leonidas and the Spartans had a glorious death. :)

Turkey will win in an exchange, but I’m more interested in what NATO will do myself.

As far as rooting for one side or the other I’m just going to sit back on this one and let fates decide. No interest at all if they get into it other than I hope they don’t.

Was I asleep and missed something? Is the Ottoman Empire rising again?

A cluster-boink for everyone involved. Greece PO’d the entire EU and the US, every chance they got for the last 30 years!

Greece has NO allies and the Turks have ALL of Islam.

“And guess who Russia will support? Their Orthodox brethren.”

Russia supports the Orthodox who bend the knee to the partiarch in Moscow, not just all the Orthodox. For example, Ukraine is Orthodox, but not Russian Orthodox. Russia is not very protective of them.
