Brett Favre on Monday backtracked his remarks equating Colin Kaepernick with Pat Tillman, the former Arizona Cardinals safety who left his career to join the Army after 9/11.
The Hall of Fame quarterback said his comments during an interview with TMZ Sports was not meant to compare Kaepernick and Tillman, “but a recognition that they both sidelined their football dreams in pursuit of a cause.”

He’s been “Brees’d” nobody cares anymore about what he did on the field, we found out their true character.
That may be true to a certain extent, but... Kaepernick's career was in the crapper, and what he did did not cost him money in the long run. Heck he probably made more from Nike after he was released. Whereas Pat Tillman willingly gave up a cushy NFL lifestyle and pay to join the Army, go through Ranger training (?!) and eventually go to Afghanistan. That he was killed by friendly fire is immaterial; he was killed in action regardless. Kaepernick is still alive and kicking and being a pain-in-the-ass. He is no hero. He is a self-serving America-hating POS.

Yep, after the Packers let him go for jacking them around about whether he was gonna retire or not, his only real choice was the Jets. The Packers were not gonna let him go to another team in the NFC North.
But after one year, he bailed on the Jets and signed with the Vikings and led to them exactly zero NFC Championships and zero Super Bowls. He went to Minnesota just to spite the Packers.

And Kapernick didn’t “give up his career”. He was clearly told by 49ers GM John Lynch that he was going to be released, but given the option to “opt out of his contract”. He opted out of his contract because he thought quitting would make him more marketable than being fired.
His last season, he was one of the worst QB’s in the league with a 49.5 QBR, leading his team to a dismal 2-14 record. He had played 2 consecutive TERRIBLE seasons on the field and was a cancer in the locker room. No one was going to sign him as a starter and he refused to sign as a backup.
It was a Jets reporter. How dumb is that?
