On the 25th of this month, 144 years ago, Custer died for our sins!
Get over it.

NOTHING justifies a mob destroying historic federal property.

And nothing justifies removing any president.

He was kind of a jerk.

Yeah, but he was a magnificent Jerk, though the good things he did do not make up for the bad things he did.

The Indian removal was wrong. It was immoral.

Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal Act resulted in the death of my great great grandmother on the Trail of Tears. The bastards took everything they owned and made them begin the journey in late October guaranteeing many would die on the trail due to winter exposure. So up yours and your great grandpappy’s!

That's not quite true. The Cherokee were allowed to take their slaves with them. Come to think of it the Cherokee were the last to free their slaves. I guess everyone can be an asshole.

[He was kind of a jerk.]

In the annals of historical conquerors, Andrew Jackson was probably far less of one than most. Anyone who objects to his methods is free to remove himself from the territories he pacified and return them to the Indians whence they were forcibly acquired. Every person on earth lives on the lands wrested away by conquerors. Virtue-signaling at the expense of these people is yet another example of the old but apt saying - “talk is cheap”.

He kicked @$$. He would do it with an army, or he would do it one on one.

The one thing he was not was a wilting flower.

You assume I was talking about his dealing with the Indians. Just in general, he was not a nice guy.

He pretty much betrayed his Indian allies who helped him in his fight against the Creeks.

Your great grandpappy could still be winning while in hell.

Americans always win, at least up until the 1970s. Too bad for your ancestors but they were on the losing side. My grandpappies son went on to fight with honor under Sam Houston when they defeated Santa Anna, he was in the contingency that hammered out the surrender terms in Mexico for Texas independence and has a Texas County named after him. How did your family do?
