Americans always win, at least up until the 1970s. Too bad for your ancestors but they were on the losing side. My grandpappies son went on to fight with honor under Sam Houston when they defeated Santa Anna, he was in the contingency that hammered out the surrender terms in Mexico for Texas independence and has a Texas County named after him.
