The World Health Organization has reported the largest single-day increase in coronavirus cases by its count, at more than 183,000 new cases in the latest 24 hours.
The UN health agency says Brazil led the way with 54,771 cases tallied and the US next at 36,617. Over 15,400 came in in India.
Experts say rising case counts can reflect multiple factors including more widespread testing as well as broader infection.
Overall in the pandemic, WHO has reported 8,708,008 cases 183,020 in the last 24 hours with 461,715 deaths worldwide, with a daily increase of 4,743.
More than two-thirds of those new deaths were reported in the Americas.
The number of newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Oklahoma has set a new daily record of 478.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health department reported Sunday that total confirmed cases rose to 10,515 from 10,037 a day earlier.
The states previous record of 450 new cases in one day was set Thursday. Interim state health Commissioner Dr. Lance Frye has said a surge in coronavirus cases was expected after the state began reopening in late April.
The new wave comes amid ongoing demonstrations to protest police killings of Black citizens, Juneteenth celebrations and a Saturday campaign rally US President Donald Trump held at an indoor arena in Tulsa.
The health department on Sunday reported one virus-related death. Oklahomas COVID-19 death toll how stands at 369.

....because WHO is so credible.
Suddenly, Trump causes Covid incubation to drop to a magical 8 hours!
Riiiiigght..
Of course they do!
The Oklahoma State Department of Health department reported Sunday that total confirmed cases rose to 10,515 from 10,037 a day earlier...
Now WHY are they pointing out Oklahoma??
Hmm...
Still thinking...
This is a hard one...
Yes, they at least mention the protests alongside BLAMING TRUMP...
I did not know the virus took 34 minutes to show its effects, since the rally WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE the Sunday increase and even the WHO says the EARLIEST symptoms could show is 2 days.
They’re going to ride this COVID horse until November to keep people afraid and away from POTUS rallies, and to get that mail in ballots going.
POTUS isn’t going to be able to have many rallies in places with liberal Governors like PA and MI.
Cant get the virus after one day exposure not possible
Trump post rally outbreak?
I’m beginning to question the tests.
A contaminated swab is the perfect way to up the numbers.
Gives a false positive, then infects the one tested.
we're all going to catch it sooner or later....
267 new positive tests in USA. Screw the WHO.
1 death in Oklahoma in the last 24 hours..the entire state..oh the humanity....
It could not have even been a full 24 hours for most.
Too silly to even comprehend.
testing is just another part of the politicizing & weaponizing of covid against Trump.
stop testing.

The increase was actually the 24 hours ending 2359 Greenwich time 20 June 2020, or 7:00 Saturday night, Oklahoma time. The numbers are wonky and can be fudged in several directions.
I figure Tulsa will see about 5,000,000 new cases.
I think I caught it last night, watching him on my computer.
More tests equals more positives.
By far most positives are totally asymptomatic.
More cases with the rate of deaths decreasing for USA totals, means that the virus is showing itself less deadly every day... Why is the media assuming the public not does not understand basic math?
Because why would the news make a case out of more positive cases, which is directly related to the more testing going on as ominous, which in turn just proves the chances of dying are getting even less as the rate of deaths are decreasing week after week at the same time ? Is this is advanced calculus or rocket science or something ...?
