According to all of the cases dealing with the issue of “taxable situs,” the basic justification of a state’s power to tax property within its borders is that the property enjoys the “protections and benefits of the taxing state.”
The property in CHAZ certainly isn’t enjoying much protection or benefit from the State of Washington right now.

Should Chaz last until next year - I imagine that Fathers Sperm Donors Day 2021 will be wrought with confusion.

The mayor and governor are completely responsible for all that happens in the zone.

I slept and showered outside the zone. (Those inside have no showers but they do have portable bathrooms.) What do they have against showers?!

Our contempt for the media is inextricable from our hatred of this entire world, the booklet reads. Attacks on journalists who are accused of not toeing the line have become commonplace."
The cowards at The Seattle Times think they can make themselves safe by kow-towing to the mob. What insipid idiots they are.

"Is it rainy season yet?"
I live just north of Seattle, and it HAS been rainy the past two weeks. Even for Seattle, it's been a cool, wet June.
But the weather isn't the worst of their problems; THEY THEMSELVES are the worst of their problems. The occupiers reject everything that makes civil society impossible, and the results will be predictable.

Liberals are generally averse to bathing.

Absolutely right. Andy Ngo would be recognized and murdered on the spot. He has incredible courage and needs our support.
To: The Pack Knight
This is an utter disgrace. The mayor has simply ruined those proprietors. I hope she can be sued personally or jailed.

We have a liberal mayor and police chief in Houston, but Ill give them this: HPD let the protesters march around and blow off steam, and the police chief even marched with them and prayed with them, but they didnt hesitate to make arrests if the protesters even blocked a road.
As a result, we had no serious rioting to speak of, and only relatively minor property damage, and a few minor injuries. Were certainly the largest city that can say that.
Its a pretty simple, common-sense formula. You draw a bright line between peaceful assembly, which is constitutionally-protected, and breach of the peace, which is a crime. You permit and even facilitate the former and prevent and punish the latter.

Search isn’t perfect.
A FRiend posted an article a couple of days ago with a title identical to the one I’d posted about 12 hours before.
When I did a FR search only his showed up.
I’m a bit more forgiving of redundancy now.

If I were the mayor there I would block off all the sewers, turn off the water, disconnect the electricity, block off all roads (in and out), and make it a felony to attempt to get supplies in or out.
How long do you think they would survive in a WARSAW TYPE GHETTO?
