A Navarre High School teacher has been arrested after she allegedly had sex with one of her students at the school last summer.
Meghan Mary Rodriguez, 37, was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual assault. She was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail without bond.
Rodriguez quit her job with Santa Rosa County School District on May 28, according to Connie Carnley, the school district’s assistant superintendent for human resources.
“It was under investigation, and she chose to leave our employment,” Carnley said.
According to Rodriguez’s arrest report, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip on March 3 that Rodriguez had sex with one of her 17-year-old students last summer.
When law enforcement interviewed the student, he said frequent, platonic text message conversations with the teacher had turned sexual, and he and Rodriguez had sex at Navarre High School in the summer of 2019.
The student said after attending a “summer practice,” he met with Rodriguez in her classroom to go over something and the two had sex.

I just don’t understand why teachers do this. It’s so easy for a woman to pick up a guy today why bother with the underaged? Christ, just go on Bumble or Tinder and set it to 20 years old. Not a lot of difference between those two ages except legality. Adult Friend Finder, etc? Go to a bar or club Friday night? Pretty much any horny 20-year old will say yes to an older woman as a hook up.
