The weakness of Mr. Trump’s drawing power and political skills, in a state that voted for him overwhelmingly and in a format that he favors, raised new questions about his electoral prospects for a second term at a time when his poll numbers were already falling. And rather than speak to the wide cross-section of Americans who say they are concerned about police violence and systemic racism, he continued to use racist language, describing the coronavirus as “Kung Flu.”

This was my first thought; If the Trump campaign can get played by a bunch of teens for this event, then he is a risk for getting played again on Election Day...
The low turnout was caused by Coronavirus fears and more importantly fear of violent Antifa attacks/riots...
DJT better come out swinging immediately, round up Antifa and start indicting some of these Obama traitors...

Now-that being said-the genius behind their plan is it worked perfectly. All the FReepers here can try to say otherwise but it was brilliant. It worked by exposing his weakness which is his oversized ego and his Twitter account. They knew he would brag about ticket sales and then it would be a media circus when it flopped.
That was the point. Expose your opponents weakness-and if possible make him do it on his own. Had WE done that every one here would be laughing and calling it brilliant. But since the other side thought it up-it’s “election interference”. No-it’s pretty clever. Give credit where credit is due. The Trump team got played by a bunch of kids.
For them it will be the gift that keeps on giving. Why? Because he doesn’t have the personality to laugh and shrug it off. It will eat at him and anger him. He doesn’t like being humiliated and can’t handle it. So-hes going to make it worse. Watch.

I just call BS on the AOC claim that the Dems played a dirty trick. They are playing mind games with the Trump campaign. I can recall something similar about Reps voting in Dem primaries (in states where you don't register by party) to help Bernie. The results are always negligible given the numbers involved.
Attendance was down for a number of reasons: (1) the fear of the virus in an indoor location fanned by the MSM and "experts"; (2)the prospect of violence and being hassled by BLM and ANTIFA especially given the ongoing demonstrations around the country; and (3)the ability to watch it all on television and online.
Despite all the obstacles, attendance was good and more importantly, the earned media of millions watching the event on TV and online accomplished the objective. I see this as a watershed moment because Trump courageously held an organized mass indoor event. The NBA, MLB, and NFL will take note along with concert promoters, churches, and schools. If there is no major spike in cases in OK, the pressure to open up completely will mount.

So, the NY Times estimates about 12,000_ showed up for the rally. For Biden to even come close to drawing a crowd that size, the DNC would have to organize bus caravans from all over. The 12,000+ who showed up for Trump got there under their own power.
Essentially, the meid/dem hyping of the virus, and the threats of violence did stop some from coming. I also hear that the slowness of the temperature taking also prevented some from getting in before start time. I suspect this will be the case for most of the rallies over the next month or two.
