On June 19, a group of workers plans to picket outside an unlikely location: Union Jacks strip club.
It's the only club out of nearly 30 Portland establishments that won't agree to demands to ensure fair treatment of black dancers.
"Who's gonna cross a strike line of angry-ass strippers?" says Cat Hollis, a dancer who organized the Portland Stripper Strike.
The picket line is a signal that the national movement for racial justice has extended to the quintessentially Portland institution of strip clubs.
More than 100 dancers have issued the following demands to club owners: require cultural sensitivity training on a regular basis for all club staff, owners and management; ensure that black dancers get fair hiring opportunities and desirable shifts; and require owners and managers to participate in listening sessions with black dancers to learn about their experiences working at Portland clubs.

Cistrunk says that while most clubs allow all dancers to audition, many in Portland—especially high-end clubs—hire mostly white or light-skinned dancers with a "Barbie aesthetic."

Maybe the club owners know what they are doing... Maybe they don't want to hire too many black strippers because they are not very popular with customers...

Tell the customers that they are being racist by preferring to spend money on white strippers...
This is a business not a social club. if the customers do not want to watch black performers then sorry girls but you do not get to determine what their likes and dislikes are.
If the club owners hires dancers that the customers do not prefer then the dollars and customers go someplace else.
You can have all the racial attitude you want and it changes nothing.
The customers will pay for what they want to see and if they do not want to see you then tough shit.

There was a disproportionately high number of black male on white woman attacks.

Looking at her pic in the article, I can understand why she doesn’t get hired. She’s getting older, and was probably never that got to begin with.

Article indicates Union Jack's runs 40 dancers per shift, that's an amazing amount of overpriced drinks being sold indicating owner know their clientele quit well...a successful business model.

With dancers competing for forty spots, it's doubtful that the Russia owner has sensitity bitch sessions with any dancers, regardless of race.

Portland is one of the whitest cities in America. Over 80% white and less than 3% blaclk.
Probably why it’s so loopy. Too many white guilt liberals not actually living with the insanity they try to promote.
I have no doubt given that racial makeup that there is not a high demand for black dancers. Has nothing to do with racist strip coin owners has to do with simple supply and demand.
The demand for black strippers is far below the supply. Call that racist if you like, but that’s reality.
Now you want to mandate what people must be physically attracted to?
If this isn’t the most pressing issue of the day, what is? Can someone please ask both President Trump and Joe Biden what they plan to do about the plight of these gals?
She is not bad looking, and she has a good figure which is the main thing I suppose. But she looks like a cranky academic or attorney, pretty much the opposite of sexy. This gal is in the wrong line of work.
There’s no accounting for taste. If someone doesn’t like fusion cuisine, they won’t go to a fusion restaurant.
I’m surprised these ladies haven’t joined forces with local trannies to protest discriminatory hiring and working conditions.
