Her colleagues said Basherts assertion wasnt true, and said she needed to vote based on qualifications. Some asked for an apology, describing the comment as racist.
“So you say On The Record that it’s not true, and i will not be crucified if I vote against a black person on a commission... Very Well then... Let us test that assertion. I vote NO...”
