“Since I will be crucified if I vote against any black person on a commission, I’m going to vote yes”

Her colleagues said Bashert’s assertion wasn’t true, and said she needed to vote based on qualifications. Some asked for an apology, describing the comment as racist.
“So you say On The Record that it’s not true, and i will not be crucified if I vote against a black person on a commission... Very Well then... Let us test that assertion. I vote NO...”
