Amazon workers at a Chicago warehouse were left outraged that chicken and waffles were being served as part of the facility's Juneteenth celebration.
The workers at the Amazon warehouse known as DCH1 were told Thursday that the facility was 'honoring the Black community by supporting local Black businesses' by serving chicken and waffles on Friday - Juneteenth - a document obtained by CNBC revealed.

The Facebook group added that some warehouse workers' responses to the chicken and waffles included 'That's some racist s**t, who idea was that lol' and 'I love chicken and waffles, but damn that IS insulting as hell. Should I bring the watermelon too? Lol.'

Chicken and waffles is a meal invented by a restaurant in NYC. A black American owned restaurant. It happened because the musicians and club workers came into the restaurant en masse one night in the wee hours of the morning and the restaurant was out of a lot of staples and it was too early for the morning resupply so, they served what they had. Plenty of chicken to fry and plenty of waffle mix and syrup.
Now, if they had been offered a monetary bonus in addition to the chicken and waffles, everything would have been just hunky-dory.
They should have ordered them Italian food and said you know Blacks like Italian food too.
Ham hocks, black-eyed peas, turnip & collard greens and sweet potato pie....now that’s a menu!
They forgot the collard greens, grit, catfish, pork ribs, and watermelon.
No shrimp and grits? I would be pissed too!
