The clots.

They’re why the ventilators didn’t work.

Alpha Defensin
Alpha defensins are produced mainly in neutrophils and Paneth cells, while the beta defensins are widely expressed in epithelial tissues, including those of the respiratory, gastrointestinal and reproductive systems and the skin.

More than thirty percent suffer blood clots? Find that hard to believe. More like thirty percent of patients sick enough to be hospitalized would be my guess.

No, I think the 30% is plausible. Keep in mind that the common “coronatoes” symptom is actually due to blood clots.

Increased alpha-defensin expression is associated with risk of coronary heart disease: a feasible predictive inflammatory biomarker of coronary heart disease in hyperlipidemia patients
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4949746/
Human neutrophil peptides (HNPs) or alpha (α)-defensins are cysteine-rich cation polypeptides that are produced and released from activated polymorphonuclear neutrophil granules during septic inflammation and acute coronary vascular disorders.

The clots.

Agree. Do "more than 30 percent" of flu sufferers develop blood clots? I don't think so. Blood clots in blood vessels leads to damaged vessels which remain with us for life. The body has ways of growing new vessels, or enlarging surrounding vessels to take over for damaged ones in some cases, but the damage is done, and this probably explains the permanent lung scaring, heart damage, and etc., seen in covid patients.

“... should improve COVID-19 survival, “IF” approved.”

No approval needed. These are both old drugs. If a provider wants to prescribe them there should be no problem unless President Trump mentions them first.

Human neutrophil peptides inhibit cleavage of von Willebrand factor by ADAMTS13: a potential link of inflammation to TTP

Here, we demonstrate for the first time that HNPs inhibit the proteolytic cleavage of peptidyl VWF73 and multimeric von Willebrand factor (VWF) by ADAMTS13 in a concentration-dependent manner. This inhibitory effect appears to be mediated by tight binding between HNPs and the VWF-A2 domain, which presumably competes for binding of ADAMTS13 to VWF and renders it resistant to proteolysis. Plasma levels of HNPs1-3 or HNP1, HNP2, and HNP3 are all markedly increased in patients with acquired autoimmune TTP who have severe deficiency of plasma ADAMTS13 activity. Together, our findings demonstrate a novel biological function of HNPs1-3, and suggest a potential link between inflammation, neutrophil activation, and microvascular thrombosis in TTP and possibly other inflammation-associated thrombotic disorders.

Anticoagulants are a frontline treatment even at symptom onset

At least this study will determine which are effective
