What a failure. Pelosi’s smug little pandering photo-op of taking a knee wound up on the wrong side of the racism issue.
It was bad enough that the Democrats taking a dramatic orchestrated kneeling-in-support-of-George-Flynn opportunity to kneel had it blow up in their face a few different ways.
Pelosi looked like the Medic Alert ‘I’ve fallen and I can’t get up’ lady.
An actual African woman called them out for being condescending and using African garb to play dress-up when it suits them, having no interest in all about whose cultural icons they are co-opting for their political purposes. (Or, to use their own weaponized language: ‘culturally appropriating’.)
Not very woke of them, is it?
In having the Kente Cloths spotlit by her criticism of Democrat appropriation of them, people noticed a glaring point of conflict between the African garb the Democrats draped themselves in and the message they tried to send by kneeling.
Of all the cultures in Africa they might have invoked, the Ashanti Tribe does not have the kind of history in a Black Lives Matters kneeling solidarity stunt. Here’s why:

The paper then gives some historical background, some of which includes the following…
Tutu, who lived from 1660 to 1712 or 1717, unified several small Asante kingdoms to create the Asante empire. He is credited with expanding the Asante throughout most of Ghana and introducing his subjects to the gold and slave trades along the West African coast. The Asante supplied British and Dutch traders with slaves in exchange for firearms, which they used to expand their empire. Slaves were often acquired as tributes from smaller states or captured during war. Some slaves were brought across the Atlantic whiles others stayed in Africa to work in gold fields.
According to the BBC, by the end of the 18th century, the region exported an estimated 6,000-7,000 slaves per year. — USAToday
This is a party that is actively campaigning to remove Confederate statues of which 9 of the 11 are Democrats. A party that gave us such grand historical legacies as the KKK and Jim Crowe.
Only a decade ago, they suppressed a photo of the Black Congressional Caucus — and Obama — featuring Louis Farrakhan until Obama was past the point where it could damage him politically. He’s openly a bigot, with a penchant for calling for racial violence, and they draw support from those who follow him.
Should it really surprise us that the African culture they appropriated happens to have a history of exploiting Black people just as badly as the Democrats themselves have?
If it had been a pole dancer killed during an arrest, Pelosi and company would have shown their support by pole dancing.
And, I just made myself sick.
Social media should be pounding Nancy, Chuck U, Steny, et all with this.

I’m gonna go with “These people are stupid.” A surmise - they contacted somebody who knows about these things to locate an appropriate sash (correct-looking patterns and color combinations) which would instantly appear to the casual observer as generically “African” and just went with it.
I almost wonder if there isn’t some subversive in the organization who suggested it hoping for just this result.
Yes, it appears that he did. Quite the visual artist.
That’s why they’re so eager to wipe out American history because their history was wiped out.
Makes perfect sense since nearly all the slave buyers and plantation owners were democrats.

I doubt she knew. She probably asked an aid to round up some generic African garb for the picture. Everybody knows that is how they dress over there, just like Mexicans with their sombreros and the Chinese with their coolie hats.
“You’d think the black caucus would know the origin of the scarfs. Black caucus provided the scarfs for the photo op.”
May be they did know and this was their way of labeling Pelosi and her ilk.
The democrats are beyond retarded.
