Richmond judge extends injunction barring removal of Lee statue on Monument Avenue

Virginia will have to continue to hold off on taking down the Robert E. Lee statue on Richmond's Monument Avenue.

A Richmond judge on Thursday extended indefinitely an injunction barring the state from removing the statue, the most well-known Confederate symbol in the former capital of the Confederacy. The statue has received increased scrutiny in the three weeks of protests in Richmond over police brutality and racial injustice.

The statue "belongs to the people," said Richmond Circuit Court Judge Bradley B. Cavedo, who has set another hearing in the case for July 23.

There’s someone left in VA government with a shred of sanity?

It’s racism. They hate his great grandson Bruce just because his mother was Chinese. Is that a reason to take it out on great grandpa Robert E?

“The statue “belongs to the people””

Does that mean that the people of Richmond will get to decide and vote on the statue?

The statue should stay up.

And they should add another beside it of Grant accepting his surrender.

Well, you would think the Antifa would be more forgiving of the General. His great grandson was, after all, a movie star and a world-renowned martial arts expert. But noooooo, just because he was the love child of his granson and a Taiwan-ese brothel madam, they must disown the general, too. Racists.

Move the statues to the Chancellorsville battlefield, the site of Lee and Jackson’s greatest victory.

They don’t deserve to be in a commie shithole like RVA.

Private groups should buy or offer to take these art works of historical importance and place them on private property.

Take the politics out of it.

THEN when the rioters come for them...

“The statue should stay up.

Instead of tearing down historical monuments, the Wokesters should be filling in the blank spots by adding memorials recognizing their own history-— statues honoring people like Oscar Dunne and P.B.S. Pinchback and the Tuskegee Airmen, to name a few.
Of course, the Woke crowd has no clue who any of those people are.

Nor do they care. This is not about truth or “morality,” it is about power. Never let the truth get in the way of the agenda.

People should take some time to read Lee’s biography.
His record at West Point
His service in the Mexican American war
His character and experience which caused him to be offered the leadership of the Union and Confederate armies
The importance of states rights in 1860 thought
His instructions to his troops at Appomattox
His friendship with Grant
His service as President of Washington College
His efforts at reconciliation.
Then look in the mirror and see how you measure up!
