an employer who fires an individual merely for being gay or transgender defies the law.
Clothing stores are now powerless to block perverts from women’s changing rooms. Swim teams, basketball teams, wrestling teams will have to allow transgenders. Shower time is just a bonus.

Way back in the 60’s my parents were trying to rent the house. One day they went out and told me that if anyone calls about it and sounds black, I was to say it was already rented (I was in 6th grade, BTW). I asked them why, and this is what they said:
If we get a white family and they are deadbeats, we can evict them. If they are black, they can use the law to hang around a long time.
So, for them it was not that they saw the races differently. It was that the government saw the races differently and they didn’t want to get tangled up with the government if they had deadbeat renters.
Insanity rules the day. What’s sane is insane, what’s insane is sane.
So, did they just pass the Equal Rights Amendment by judicial fiat?
Next it will be illegal to treat people you don’t like differently than people you like.
What about a transgender person that is always brooding around the office and wearing their attitude on their shoulders, negatively impacting other employees (or customers)? Can you fire them for that?
I really, really hope that the conservative justices all follow this precedent, and hold that gender segregation of any kind in school athletics violates Title IX.
The Court is demanding that we treat a verifiable fact as if it is fluid. That we endorse, mouth and salute an untrue thing...or else...

The absurdity of applying civil rights protections to people based on SELF-IDENTIFIED characteristics will quickly become obvious to even the most obtuse and partisan misfits wearing black robes in Washington.

Some employers will use contract workers and contract teams (rated and paid on performance) to insulate themselves from lawsuits.
If they are interchangeable, or exactly equal, then no man can be fired/sued for sexual harassment. No man can lose his home/car/kids in a divorce. Everyone must register for selective service. All talk about glass ceiling and 76 cents to the dollar will stop. There will not be separate teams for men/women. Hysterics will have to stop yelling about “first woman president.”

awesome- was really hoping businesses would hire more hateful angry gay and transgender workers so i could be treated like crap whenever i take my groceries to the counter to pay for them-
they can cop any attitude they want, and the owners can’t fire them- so say good bye to the golden rule of business where ‘the customer is always right’ - now we’ll have angry lesbians and homosexuals taking their anger out on customers because these gay folks are bored with their jobs and don’t like people in general-
Yes, this is a generalization- I haven’t dealt with too many decent gay folks who are content to just ‘live and let live’- most seem very angry- looking to make everyone around them as miserable as they are- -
