Curtis would be celebrated by the media if had a “D” next to his name. Reportedly he spoke Kansa (Kaw) as a small child before he learned English.

Yep. He's ignored for the same reason they ignore Tim Scott getting elected in SC. If Scott was a RAT, the media would have fawning coverage of him on the cover of Newsweek and Time (captions like "Meet 21st Century South Carolina"), saying his election as "the first black Senator from the deep south since reconstruction" is historic, and it shows how much Americans have "grown" since then by white southerners being willing to elect a black man to represent the whole state and blah blah blah.

But he has a "R" next to his name, so it's Tim who?
