John Bolton's bombshell memoir contains new instances of alleged misconduct by President Trump – including agreeing to back off criminal probes as 'personal favors' to certain dictators.
The book also contains a claim that Trump pleaded with Chinese President Xi Jinping to boost U.S. food purchases, describing it in terms of his own election. Trump regularly touts a deal to pause the China trade war as one of his chief accomplishments.
A new book excerpt obtained by the New York Times contains the claim about the criminal probes. Bolton writes that in cases involving China and Turkey, Trump was willing to 'in effect, give personal favors to dictators he liked.'

It wouldn’t surprise me if Bolton, like John McCain and many other Washington insider NeoCons, had his fingerprints on pushing the phony Steele dossier to various organizations in the summer of 2016.
Hence the interest in seeing Trump defeated and an end to the Durham investigation.
I also would not be the least surprised if not only Obama admin hacks but Neocons had been heavily involved in illegally accessing the NSA database in years past.
I wouldn’t believe anything these papers write. It always turns out to be hogwash.
As if President Trump ever “begged” for anything. Bolton is just pissed that President Trump wouldn’t get into a war Bolton wanted, because, you know, Bolton is the one who should tell President Trump how to handle dictators. Carrot or stick?
Sure. He has all that evidence and information. Probly just a bunch of hearsay and rumors. It’s the most disgusting thing book after book after book lie after lie and we’ve already been through this the whole Russian hoax now they’re starting with the China hoax?

I actually can see Trump trying to put it that way for leverage, as if it is asking a personal favor, instead of just robotically giving Xi (or Erdogan) his listed requests for the country.
Now, do I think that he also thought it actually would help his reelection? Of course. He thinks his agenda is for the good of the country and therefore something the voters will want to reelect him for.
The error comes in thinking he was requesting favors just for his own benefit or even to the detriment of the country.
Trump (correctly) sers what he is nwgotiating for as good for the country and thus by definition good for his reelection.
Note: Bolton doesn’t have any stories of requests to stuff any Trump family bank accounts, but instead to by products from American farmers, who were hit hard by Trump’s earlier nwgotiating tactics to prepare Xi for the bargaining table.
