Fox News contributor Trey Gowdy, the former chairman of the House Oversight Committee, joined Hannity Tuesday to discuss the ongoing anti-police protest in Seattle and the conversation surrounding law enforcement reform.
I think that the police in Seattle actually retreated. They surrendered, right? They abandoned the police precinct, Gowdy told host Sean Hannity in reaction to claims that the denizens of the Capitol Hill Organized Protest were peaceful. So if these protesters are really peaceful, I dont know why the police felt that they were in danger or feared for their safety and had to retreat.
The way I look at the world, there are mostly good cops and a few bad, Gowdy went on. There may be many peaceful protesters, but a few bad. I think were better off in society if we individualize it. If youre going to destroy other peoples property and break laws, then you should be arrested. I dont care what park youre in. I dont care what city youre in. [ ]
Most crime is state [or] local. The feds dont get involved in 99 percent of crime. So I think the president should use federal power only if interstate commerce is impacted, Gowdy said. Only if the ability to travel from state to state is impacted. Otherwise, its a Washington problem. They can fix it.

Yup. Gowdy is an empty suit... spending energy deciding daily hairstyles, glasses, beard / no beard.
The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect them against invasion; and on application of the legislature or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence. This seems to me to be a challenge against the enumerated powers of the federal government by rebellious state and municipal governments. But if the people of the state put this down of their own accord, so much the better.
So this is without precedent in US history, i.e. with respect to putting down such rebellion as this? I don’t think so. Although I do have to say that the media support of such evil is unprecedented, FWICS.
Yes, I agree with your DOJ thought and coy slander as well.
Good grief...
They only way to fix it would be if conservative group took over parts of a city then the press would be screaming for troops to be sent in
yes-agree-there is no upside or constitutional way Trump can come out looking good-let the blister continue to grow until it pops
Never make idle threats that you have no intention of action upon.
Not too difficult to guess that his advice would be to do nothing.
I hope this is free advice he is giving Trump.
He sounds like a high school boy trying to impress a girl- turns out the girl is Ainsley Earhardt.
First time I agree with Gowdy.....they created this CRAP, now let them live this way.
Gowdy is quite smart here. Let ‘em call us up, first.
There usually a right and a wrong in crappy situations like Seattle... what they have done is wrong.. they cant take over and declare a portion of a city as theirs..
Removing them is a sticky problem but for our nation, our laws, our constitution,... .
And today, our laws have been bypassed by a radical group who have been hyped with the power they seem to have found and are over the edge on foolish demands.
Why are they given room to destroy, loot and the overthrow of everything our nation stands for... lawless in high gear.
If a group of christians did this, they would be taken out. And this group called blm .. its already gone too far.. weeks ago.
What i would do cant be done today.. they have created a monster past redemption.
I would start with tear gas, then rubber bullets.. and this would end.. this insurrection will only spread... its intoxication of power by idiots.
Doesnt matter what Trey says. Trump has already tweeted about it and said he WOULD do something if they didnt. Therefore, he has no choice but to follow through. The longer he does nothing-the longer it looks like he is all bark and no bite. You cant just tweet and threaten without following through (or can you?). At least you shouldnt.
Not too difficult to guess that his advice would be to do nothing.
I hope this is free advice he is giving Trump.
That was my first thought, too. Do-nothing GOPe Gowdy suggesting what he does best: nothing.
Let it fester like a boil. But short of sending in troops there isnt much to be done. Let them rot.
I agree with Trey Gowdy let WA handle it.
I concur. Trump interjected himself into the situation in Seattle.
A better tweet would have been that the role of government is to protect the rights and property of everyone and Gov. Inslee and Mayor Durkan are failing their state and city by allowing such an occupation.
Put the ball in their court. When you make a threat you have to follow up on it.
As a matter of law, it is pretty clear to me that the constitutional rights of those who live, work, or own businesses in Wokeistan are being violated. This is not acceptable and eventually there will be an unfortunate incident.
Hannity is a joke always has been
Washington state has been lost for decades. If the left want to bait Trump they should use a state worth saving.
