On Tuesday, the Washington Post once again went after the Washington Redskins nickname, calling the moniker shameful and offensive.
In his editorial, sports columnist Barry Svrluga demanded that NFL team Owner Daniel Snyder eliminate the name his team has had since 1933.
Now is the time. Sorry, long past the time, Svrluga wrote to the NFL owner. If the NFL season opens as planned with training camps this summer, Washingtons team should do so under another name. Under its new name. Whatever that might be. Put it on the ballot, and then mail it in!

How about the Washington Traitors?
And to think, ol’ Ben Franklin was right so many years ago in proposing the TURKEY as the national bird/emblem!
(But I think they're probably trying to knock all Ben's statues down now too.)
(By the way, are you suggesting they be renamed the "Philadelphia Turkeys"?)
Are they next going to demand that anything having the word White in it be renamed? When was the last time there were protests by local or any Native American tribes? There’s a a crock, Native American, no one sprang out of the ground here, they were just here earlier and were just as likely to take other tribes land and enslave them.
I call for the Washington Post to change its racially insensitive name./s
I agree. The name “Washington” harkens back to the days of slavery. I believe they should be the Obama Redskins or maybe the Floyd Redskins.
Absolutely!

I was gave a sh*t about this but having stopped watching the NFL, NASCAR, NBA, etc. a long time ago, I don’t give one iota of a sh*t about it.
