AUSTIN — Gov. Greg Abbott says 20-something Texans are catching coronavirus in greater numbers.
And he’s rebuking them for not taking safety precautions, such as wearing masks, when they go out.
Abbott took to the airwaves on Monday to caution Texans in their 20s that too many of them are taking COVID-19 too lightly.
“A lot of people have let down their guard,” he said on KLBK-TV’s noon newscast in Lubbock.
“If you do not use these safe strategies, you will test positive,” the governor warned. He referred to wearing a face covering, washing hands and maintaining a safe...

They’re just adding to herd immunity. But they definitely should stay away from older folks with “susceptibilities” and self isolate if they test positive.

If the governor of Texas sides more with the protestors than the citizens who want to go back to work and school, then this country is lost. And all without a shot fired by the right.
With the “Business Roundtable” of the top 200 corporate executives in this country committed to “justice” and “equity” etc. etc. the politicians follow like lapdogs.....
Yes. Most of those not wearing masks inside stores in my locale are young Democrats. Most of those wearing masks are old Republicans. Some of them even wear MAGA hats while doing their shopping.
Here’s a little heads up. Some major retailers in areas that were, until recently, seeing lower average daily rates of new infections have received signs saying, “Masks Required.” Infection rates in those areas have been going up again due to pushy, mouth breathing slobbery on the part of low information folks: mostly leftist hogs in their thirties and forties.
The baby mamas are still mad about being stuck with their kids, instead of the kids being out of their hair and brainwashed in public schools.

Someone here has associates ..friends..who have it in Texas after reopening..and servers from hooters who have it. Some not doing well ..others okay..one is in 20s from hooters in hospital

First of all this is incredible third party information. Secondly we snd yoh and zero idea about the details of all of this including the hospitalization. So peddling fear isn’t a good stance
What we do know is if you are under 65 and I’m reasonably good health the chances of serious or mortal disease is vanishingly small. Lightning strike territory.
I have a friend who has a friend is hardly an epidemiological study. Someone posted on an Internet forum is even less credible.
Despite our so called spike in the south we have not had on covid admission to our large hospital in a week. Either the virus is attenuating to less of a problem or it never was a problem to begin with. Or both.
But in either case the revolution is being broadcast. And you are part of the revolution. It is a shame.
Americans used to be great. And we used to be unafraid. To quote newsroom. We built things, revered intelligence, built the greatest economy and made unbelievable scientific discovery. And we were I’m afraid of intelligence.
Now we are thumb sucking government loving save is from ourself wimps.

If Abbott really wants to send a message he should start enforcing the mandatory quarantines imposed on positives.
A few huge fines and/or house arrest on violators would send a far stronger message.
We should be quarantining sick people, not healthy ones.
