NEW YORK — A teenager involved in the fatal stabbing of Barnard student Tessa Majors in New York last December was sentenced to 18 months in the custody of the Administration for Children's Services on Monday.

"After that, we saw Tessa Majors walking on the stairs inside the park. Rashaun went up to her and said something to her and Tessa yelled for help. Rashaun used the knife that I had handed to him to stab Tessa and I saw feathers coming out of her coat," he said.

You forget that you’re not as dead if you’re killed by a juvenile as you would be if you were killed by an adult. Hence the rationale for letting juvenile killers off with a slap on the wrist.

I worked in juvenile corrections for 28 years. There was a trend to do adult sentencing down to age 14 for serious crimes, but then the weepy got the better of there issue.,
