In a powerful, nearly 1500-word long column published last week at LawOfficer.com, Yates poured his heart out over the growing disrespect for law enforcement that hes seen as the decades have progressed.
---
- The mentally ill used to get treatment and now they just send cops.
- Kids used to be taught respect and now its cool to be disrespectful.
- Supervisors used to back you when you were right but now they accuse you of being wrong in order to appease crazy people.
- Parents used to get mad at their kids for getting arrested and now they get mad at us.
- The media used to highlight the positive contribution our profession gave to society and now they either ignore it or twist the truth for controversy to line their own pockets.
- There used to be a common respect among criminals. If they got caught, they understood you had a job to do but now its our fault they sit in handcuffs rather than their own personal decisions.
- If someone attacked a cop, they were seen as such. Now we martyr them and sue for millions.
- We used to be able to testify in court and we were believed. Now, unless there is video from three different angles, no one cares what you have to say.

Well more like it’s nice to visit. But the way I see it now, politics is effed up no matter where you go these days.

There is a wave of crap hitting the US and corporations are jumping on board. The cops are still holding the line for the most part. I cant believe it after all the president has done to improve business. The disloyal corporate bastards are betting that Biden wins and the whole country will do the Pelosi knee bend. Yup they are betting on Biden. The cops will go with Trump.I think it started with entertainment (sports, Kaepernick's kneeling) and metastasized from there. The corporations are bowing to entertainment (sports, other live entertainment) and the advertising dollars they provide. It's filling a civic vacuum. Corporations / media / entertainment feed off of each other, and here you have the result.
Sadly, you're right, the corporations are profiting from a booming economy Trump helped introduce, but they're reacting to their viewership, which apparently lacks the ability to ask critical questions and just reacts emotionally, and makes spending decisions based on those emotions.

there is a large part of our population that can only be dealt with, shall I say, anything but cordial. But there are police officers that dont know when to turn that off.
Hard to believe that 50 years of continuously lowering Standards would have an effect on the quality and caliber of Peace Officers./s

perhaps some cops need to think twice before using deadly force ...”
At this point it’s more complicated than that. That is so 20 years ago.
For instance, if I were oNE of the cops present at the taser guy shooting he’d probably not have been shot but I’m reasonably certain I’d be out of a job and possibly charged with excessive force.
Today cops are damned if they do and damned if they dont.

To: Trump Girl Kit Cat
They’re going to HAVE to do something like that because they otherwise face liability no matter which way they go.

Gangsta rap taught young “men of color” that it’s cool to resist arrest...that in resisting arrest you’re challenging 4,000 years of racism.Well, when you look what’s happened to so many “rappers”...famous or not...you begin to wonder if they were giving good advice.

If you think cops broadly...and I mean as a rule...are worse than the people they are sworn to protect us from, then I’m not sure you’re bright enough to post on FR.
Why would you think that I believe that?
And, why would you think that the police are sworn to protect us?

I'm a 28 years military vet and rule follower with a TS clearance, and I do anything I can to avoid contact with the cops. I won't call them for anything.
We, in law enforcement, thank you. It would be nice if the populace would self-police more and we didnt have to come into contact with as many people.

Hard to believe that 50 years of continuously lowering standards would have an effect on the quality and caliber of society, in every aspect, overall. From academics to behavior to comprehension to reasoning skills.

Great story. I think that very few liberal Moonbats would understand the significance of the blue line flag, and therefore your vehicle would be less prone to damage by dem thuggery..

“Eric Shawn was on- totally convicting the police in public opinion court, and his black guest sitting there nodding along”
Probably the black guest you’re referring to is that extremely hateful and nasty bitch Arthel Neville who despises Trump. She and Shawn are together on the weekends. A word to the wise: Stay away from FNC on the weekends.

Yeah and the corporation want Biden because he’ll smooth it over with China and they’ll have a huge market, especially entertainment like Disney, Nascar, NFL. Biden will just go back to selling out the states like he had initially done.
