When I was growing up, parents of some of my friends would tell us that when they went to high school everyone took a class in their senior year that was essentially a class in being an adult. Names were drawn out of a hat and males and females were put together in a mock marriage situation. They were given scenarios in terms of mock ages they were at, professions, incomes, etc. They were given lessons on how insurance worked and such. They were then given tasks to make decisions as a couple on what kind of insurance to get, house to buy, etc and these decisions were discussed in class. Guest speakers from banks, insurance companies were brought in, etc. These people were often former students at the high school.
A few people actually ended up marrying their mock partners. Sometimes not right away--they may have reconnected years later.
The parents said the class really helped them think about what they wanted in a partner and also demystified talking to the opposite sex as well as helped them think about what careers to go into and the plusses and minuses of settling down while young versus waiting and how best to make a go of it if settling down when young.
Some of them did end up marrying young and had successful marriages.

Has anyone looked at today’s young women?
Big part of the answer lies there.

We had that class too. We had to manage a joint checking/savings account. Manage known bills, utilities, and then random “car broke down, additional $500.” Added a credit card and charged up $1000, now you have an additional monthly bill. &^%$. Got a dog, additional monthly expense. Needed a plumber, $150.
It was actually a very good class on real juggling of finances as an adult, something we had no experience or knowledge of.
The girl I was paired with, we’re still friends and keep in touch. But it was a very small country town, a lot of us have kept in touch. Small communities are tight.

Fewer men and women worthy of being marriage partners nowadays.
Destroy marriage, you destroy the family.
Destroy the family, you destroy society.
Destroy society, you destroy civilization...

That adult class is a great idea - too bad its heteronormativity would horrify government educators from coast to coast today.

If men are having less sex and gay sex is not declining then women must also be having less sex.

Other forms of solo entertainment ? Hmmmm.
This may be the real explanation for fewer sexual partners. Its more convenient, cheaper and avoids complicated entanglements.
