The Coronavirus Mask Charade Continues

When he announced on May 1 that masks would be worn in public places, Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker was emphatic.

"We view this as common sense. This is going to be basically a way of life. No ifs, no ands, no buts, no doubts."

However, doubts are showing up.

First, Baker's order said to wear face coverings when in public places and unable to keep a social distance of six feet. Why'd he pick six feet? There is no research showing that six feet means anything in a public space.

That six-foot idea is an arbitrary guess that was "conjured up out of nowhere," according to Professor Robert Dingwall, a top scientific adviser to the British government, which like the U.S. has adopted six feet as a safe social distance. The authorities guessed that it might be a good distance because some study had shown that a cough could travel six feet in a tightly closed dead-air space. The relevance of that to everyday life — who knows?

Anyone claiming the six-foot rule is not arbitrary should explain why the World Health Organization suggests a three-foot distance and why Austria, Norway, Sweden, and Finland have adopted that rule, and why Germany and other countries use a 4.5-foot rule. Does the coronavirus behave differently in Europe?

Second, the order never defined public places. Did it mean indoors or outdoors? No one knew, and Baker probably didn't know himself. It seemed as if he was talking about indoor spaces with other people nearby. However, upon hearing Baker's poorly defined order, anxious people extended it and ran with it. Suddenly, we saw multitudes wearing masks and bandannas everywhere, even when it didn't make sense because no one was around. They jogged and rode bikes with them on,

Clearly, the UK should have adopted a two meter rule.

I watched Fauci, day after day, at the news conferences stand by our President with no mask, no gloves and touch everything in sight.

This little self-righteous b****** is a phony and all he cares about is creating a basis of power with his know it all attitude.

Wearing a mask reminds others that their exhalations can affect others; worse, if they have nearby relatives aged above ~65.

Masks keep your personal “cloud of germs” in close proximity to the originator.

Here's your mask.....see that little thing in the middle...that's a one way EXHAUST valve...so your infected air sails out to infect others.

Who cares about a stupid little virus anyway? It can’t hurt me, I’m the type that viruses are just naturally afraid of.

The insane left wants us all to

pull down our pants and

cover our faces.

They are all sick, demented perverts.

I’ve posted before on this subject.

Not everything is political. We are the party driven by science and fact.

The masks help. A lot. Even the plain paper ones. I live in a northern NJ former hot spot and it’s common sense that masks helped immensely.

Stay on target, folks.

It’s simple — the masks are nonsense because they can’t filter out viruses and they make you breath stale air.

No. they don’t. In fact they probably help spread it as people play with their masks then touch everything else

“There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask,” infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci told 60 Minutes.

While masks may block some droplets, Fauci said, they do not provide the level of protection people think they do. Wearing a mask may also have unintended consequences: People who wear masks tend to touch their face more often to adjust them, which can spread germs from their hands.

it’s common sense that masks helped immensely.

I'm not from Missouri but my wife is.

If you have co-morbidities and

believe that a chain link fence can keep out mosquitoes, wear a mask

If you are sick and cannot avoid going out in public wear a mask that way

people can avoid you.

Healthy people have no reason to wear a mask unless

they are hopeless Karens or Antifa criminals.

My daughter started a new job 2 weeks ago & she says she has no idea what her co-workers look like because of 100% masking at work.
