Roughly 200 looters stole over $100,000 worth of products from a Tampa, Florida, Walmart on the evening of May 30, according to local law enforcement.
The Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office is asking for assistance in identifying the looters, who raided the Walmart Supercenter on East Fletcher Avenue shortly after 9:00 p.m. local time.
FOX 13 reports:
The store was closed due to the police brutality protests occurring outside the University Mall, but people wielding blunt objects like hammers broke the glass entrance doors and stormed into the store.
Footage released by the sheriffs office shows wave after wave of looters streaming through the front door past the social-distancing reminders and ransacking the stores electronics section, hauling away computers, TVs, and more.
After reviewing the video, detectives believe somewhere around 200 people participated. An estimated $116,000 in merchandise and damages was reported.

I understand the book section wasn’t touched. All those shoppers must have well stocked libraries at home already.
Too bad. Walmart panders to Marxism. Walmart deserves every commercial adversity it’s suffering.
No capitalistic sympathy for you, Walmart.
$100,000? They are pikers.
Shrinkage losses are tax deductible.
Wally writes it off and we pay for it.
You know Walmart is selling really cheap crap when 200 looters operating without any interference can rampage through a store and they only get away with $100,000 worth of merchandise.
Ive been saying from the beginning of this that the same activists cheering this whole thing on are going to be the same ones complaining about the racism of food and shopping deserts. Many of the stores and businesses looted will not re-open.
they ran right past the watermelons! did they even know they were there to steal, i wonder.
Then the “rioters” will start causing trouble at the stores where mostly white people shop. Happened in my area.
Is anyone else wondering what the total cost of total damages (looting, destruction of property, arson) is that these “peaceful protests” have inflicted on America? Are we in the billions, tens of billions, hundreds of billions yet?
If you have that figure, now lets factor in medical costs, costs of added security, funeral expenses...am I missing anything else?
Bothersome.
They will never be pursued or prosecuted. After all, they’re just taking what is “rightfully” theirs from their “oppressors.”
Yep.
Das rite. Doze white folk be havin’ dem solid gold air condishuners. White shops got ‘em. Solid gold! I be gitten me one o’ dem. Me n’ sum da bruvvas be goin tonite. Dens I gwanta be layin back n’ chillin wivs my new solid gold condishuner n’ sum Colt 45s. My, my. Gwanta be nice.
I sure hope all the businesses leave these areas and the cities where the local government let them run wild. It will pretty much ruin their tax and spend policies. Abandoned burned out buildings and empty homes don’t provide much of a tax base, but hey, they needed room to destroy.

Stores were already starting to riot-proof themselves after earlier rounds, but now they’ll look like block houses.
The problem they’ll still have, though, are people who are NOT rioting, but rather simply walking out with stuff, knowing that they can no longer be arrested. I think what will happen is that stores will have to locate in red areas and people in LaHood will have to go there to shop, and those who don’t feel like paying will still have to deal with a functional justice system.
Interesting story back after Hurricane Katrina, when Texas was bright red. Seems a lot of ‘refugees’ from New Orleans came to Houston, and then re-started their former lifestyle (armed robbery, rape, etc.), which typically meant a couple of weeks in jail, at most, back home. But in Texas, they were looking at 10 to 20 years, and I suspect some are still locked up. The story was about the SHOCK of these people having to deal with a functioning justice system and facing a good portion of their adult lives being spent in prison.
At some point Walmart will have to start laying down ultimatums, as they still have to compete against Amazon and other Internet sellers who don’t have near the exposure to the mobs that publicly accessible storefronts do. They can only eat the costs of looting for so long, until they have to price it in, and then lose their competitiveness.
I don’t know when that happens, but it will happen if they continue to try to have stores in Lahood, or near Lahood.
Noticed that also. The irony is confusing.
This was just AmazonGO set to looter mode.
