The GOP Congress critters are watching the Democrats cut their political throats and do not want to distract from the spectacle or interrupt the process. As the maxim attributed to Napolean goes, “Never Interfere With an Enemy While He’s in the Process of Destroying Himself.”

Wish I could believe that but they’re not that insightful. They’re wimp-assed political animals, scared of their own shadows and enjoying the numerous perks of “public service”. They’re all hoping they’ll still have their goodies when they’re standing in the ruins and the smoke clears.

Destroying himself/themselves is one thing ...destroying the country is another.

I agree with you on that. I don’t want the rioting and destruction to stop until everyone has enough video footage for their campaign ads.

Something to keep in mind here is that we’re dealing with an uncomfortable situation where the governors and mayors who are directly responsible for quelling these disturbances simply aren’t doing their jobs. In some cases — like New York City — the governor and mayor are publicly clashing over the mayor’s ineptitude.

I’m not sure a Congressman really has any place in that conversation at all.

Personally, I am happy to see that the Tenth Amendment actually means something again.
