Looks like it’s time for the Donald Trump party.
A strong veto if it passes.
America is GREAT both because of and in spite of her history.
Why rip up ~half the story???
Imagine if these Leftists had been in control of the North at the end of the Civil War.
Sometimes the only option seems to be slamming one’s head against the wall.
Why did all of these idiots just show up? Are they scared?
Trump should say he will veto the measure unless these assets are named after MOH recipients. Period. Their stories are forgotten. This would help bring them to light. TOTAL WINNER for Trump. Disrespecting the Medal Of Honor is a stone cold loser for a politician. This allows him to take the initiative.

There can be no acceptable future without an honest analysis of the past. - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousandfold in the future. When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers . . . we are ripping the foundations of justice from beneath new generations. - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Evil people always support each other; that is their chief strength. - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
What “sntitfa” hates is the peaceful reconciliation after the Civil War.
Peaceful reconciliation is a deathly condemnation of their goals. They cannot allow even the idea.
This traitorous evil man is dividing the Gop now allowing this crazy crap .
Everyday the GOP gives me a new reason not to be one of them.
Another battle engaged in an asymmetric war that can be lost to pave the way for conquering hordes.

I’m nauseous. They’re gonna get an earful. Will it make a difference? Probably not. Gotta do it anyway.
Idiot coward Republican.
Just like Moslems and BLM....they will not like you for it!
Why bother?
Where can we find another Conservative party?
Is Trump really going to veto the entire military funding bill to "DEFEND" "racist, traitorous, terrorist" Confederates?
How is that going to play with the electorate -- particularly the Blacks Trump has so assiduously courted for 3.5 years -- once the media, politicians, celebs, musicians and the Biden and NeverTrump campaigns slam him over the head with it?
Every few years lately the leftists have to dig up the corpse of the Confederacy and bravely swat away at it for a while. It might be because they’re emboldened and thinking they can get away with anything. Probably more like an indication that they’re scared and fresh out of ideas on matters of substance.
I actually didn’t know that these posts were named after Confederate officers. Apparently most of them were started during the WW1 and WW2 buildups. The powers that be in the states where they were located were consulted about the names. The Civil War and aftermath were still vivid, sore memories for the South back in those days, and the gov’t mainly wanted people fired up and on-board with the war efforts. It’s an odd result, but I get it.
I’m not sure why Trump chose to dig in his heels so fiercely on this, but I’m not too concerned about it. He could have said he thought it was a waste of time, but he’d leave it up to the Army, Congress, and the states where the posts are located. The Confederacy was defeated 155 years ago. There were a few Southerners around who were still choked up about the Civil War when I was young, but they have to be a rare breed by now, don’t they? You don’t have to join in on every pie fight you’re invited to.
Don’t think it ends with renaming military bases named for Confederate officers. There is already much talk of removing statues of Washington and Jefferson and other founding fathers who owned slaves.
And, of course, several statues of Columbus have already been toppled.
From Brietbart article.. “the Obama administration rejected the idea of renaming military bases named for Confederate bases, noting that many of the names had been adopted as symbols of reconciliation between North and South after the brutal Civil War.”
Well, that ought to put an end to it..
