2 SC National Guardsmen found glass baked into pizza they ordered while on DC deployment

The soldiers were staying at the Marriott Marquis Hotel during their mission to the nation’s capital when they decided to order a pizza from a nearby establishment using Uber Eats, according to a Department of Defense report shared with The Post and Courier.

When they opened the pizza, they found shards of glass baked into the dough and cheese.

They didn’t eat the pizza and no one was injured, according to the report. No other Guardsmen experienced a similar problem.

“The command says that the soldiers are OK, and that this was the only incident to their knowledge,” said Capt. Jessica Donnelly, a spokeswoman for the S.C. National Guard.

She said the soldiers were advised to file a police report about the incident. A spokeswoman for the D.C. Metro Police Department said there was no report on file.

“file a police report about the incident. A spokeswoman for the D.C. Metro Police Department said there was no report on file.”

What a shock. What naive idiot thought filing a report to the DC Police would do any good?

Why wasn’t the name of the pizza place they ordered the stuff from published?

Report filed with Army CID? They offer cash rewards to anyone aiding in solving a crime.

This shit is stuff that happens in PRISON!!! Perhaps the worker who thought he was being so damned funny should be recruited to test the tensile strength of a DC lamp post.

Did they tell Uber Eats they were guardsmen and did Uber Eats pass that on to the pizzeria?

Doubtful.

Don’t doubt it. They were there long enough for word to get out. What is doubtful is there were many other people staying there besides the guard.

I’m having a hard time believing this is true. The fact that no police report was filed is a big red flag. Do you seriously expect us to believe that the the officers in charge wouldn’t do something to protect their troops? That they’re just going to say, oh well? They would file a report, even if they thought the police would do nothing, just to have a record (they would have kept a copy themselves as well). Do you think so poorly of the command structure of the Guard that they wouldn’t take such an obvious step to preserve a paper trail for future efforts. You’re saying that their platoon leader (Lt.), their company commander (Capt.), and the head of the deployment (probably a major or colonel) and their JAG officer care so little about the care of the troops under their command?

I call shenanigans.

Yep, it’s an attack on troops we’ve deployed to a hot zone. How would we react to any other attack by a violent enemy on troops we’d sent to a potential hot spot? I think there’d be some violently dead bodies all over the place, that’s what I think. Particularly since the attack was on our own soil. Hopefully, President Trump is reaching the absolute limit of what he’ll accept from these SOBs!

File the damned report if you haven’t and prosecute all involved. Name the PIZZA store just for the safety of other people.

(Assuming this claim is true)
