“file a police report about the incident. A spokeswoman for the D.C. Metro Police Department said there was no report on file.”
What a shock. What naive idiot thought filing a report to the DC Police would do any good?
I’m having a hard time believing this is true. The fact that no police report was filed is a big red flag. Do you seriously expect us to believe that the the officers in charge wouldn’t do something to protect their troops? That they’re just going to say, oh well? They would file a report, even if they thought the police would do nothing, just to have a record (they would have kept a copy themselves as well). Do you think so poorly of the command structure of the Guard that they wouldn’t take such an obvious step to preserve a paper trail for future efforts. You’re saying that their platoon leader (Lt.), their company commander (Capt.), and the head of the deployment (probably a major or colonel) and their JAG officer care so little about the care of the troops under their command?
I call shenanigans.
