Washington — The Senate Armed Services Committee approved an amendment to the annual military spending bill that would require the Defense Department to change the names of military bases and assets named for Confederate leaders.

A source familiar with the proceedings confirmed to CBS News that the GOP-led panel on Wednesday approved the amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) offered by Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts via voice vote. According to a summary of the NDAA released by the committee Thursday, the measure requires the Defense Department to rename posts and assets — streets, aircraft, ships, and other equipment — either named for Confederate officers or that honor the confederacy within three years.

My point was that the GOP kowtows to the big money interests that fund it. They control the party. We cannot compete with their powerful resources. Its always all about money.

The DC Swamp, including the GOP, hated Trump because he’s not beholden to anyone and therefore they couldn’t control him. Worse, his supporters actually want and expect the GOP to be responsive to the president and to support his agenda. On top of that, Trump EXPOSED the sleaziness of everyone in DC.

There is absolutely no way the forces that own the GOP are ever going to allow Trump and his supporters to take control of their party. Make no mistake, they fear and loathe us.

Sounds good.

Or maybe after my brother, Pfc. Charles Corrigan, who gave his life in the Battle of Saipan.

He survived the three days of combat, only to be shot by a Japanese sniper as he carried a wounded comrade back from the front line.

Not a southerner, but he did his basic training in Georgia.

Let’s change the United States of America (U.S.A.) to the United Snowflake States of America (U.S.S.A.).

Voice vote - All Repukes who voted for this need to be exposed. Trump will not sign anything with this in it.

If he ran third party he would have lost. He’s cleaned out a lot of the Repub slime, still has some left to get cleaned.

This is what Trump thinks of this.

It has been suggested that we should rename as many as 10 of our Legendary Military Bases, such as Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Benning in Georgia, etc. These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a...— Donald J. Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations...— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 10, 2020

Unfortunately Repukes did vote for it but Trump will never sign it. I wonder what else needs to happen to actually add this to the spending bill.

Seriously failed presidential candidate, Senator Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren, just introduced an Amendment on the renaming of many of our legendary Military Bases from which we trained to WIN two World Wars. Hopefully our great Republican Senators won’t fall for this!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 11, 2020
