By now, most Americans have received the federal stimulus checks directed by the CARES Act in March to help consumers weather the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Three months later, the downturn has been declared an official recession and the official unemployment rate has soared into double digits, heightening calls for a second round of stimulus checks.
There's good news and bad news on the prospects for additional government assistance. The proposed $3 trillion Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions, or HEROES, Act would authorize another round of stimulus payments for most U.S. households. While the bill was passed by the Democrat-controlled House last month, it still must get through the Republican-controlled Senate.
Yet there are signs the White House may get behind additional stimulus funding, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that the administration is working on its own plan. During a press conference last week to discuss unemployment, President Donald Trump said his administration will be "asking for additional stimulus money," while his economic adviser Kevin Hassett told the Journal this week that the odds of another stimulus package "are very, very high."

I don’t need a second stimulus check. I need a growing, reopening economy.
I got some more landscaping to do. :-)
Do you get an extra amount if you put in a shout out to BLM on social media?
Friends of mine in a similar situation just got a Visa gift/debit card with the “stimulus” payment on it.
Maybe I can use mine to learn how to read.
Ive already phoned my request in.
I certainly hope it is a TAX REBATE/REFUND. Otherwise it is “funny money” out of thin air by turning on the Treasury’s printing presses and adding to inflation, the most insidious hidden tax, so that in the end we lose.
Can I get body armor and a select fire M4 with 1000 rounds instead ?
I’m taking a berlitz course in spanglish.
I’m still waiting on the first one.
I wont get any stimulus check just the bill. Interestingly in my iimmediate family 2 of my kids who have not had their job or income affected got checks for them and their families. 3 of our retired parents on pension and social security also with no change in income got checks. My husband retired in Dec and we out his retirement payout in the 401k and actually lost money - no check. we make too much
Forget the stimulus. reopen the economy and let people get back to work
Nope. It would be just like the first stimulus payment. No obligation to pay it back whatsoever.
Someone will get the connection of this song to free government money.
I want my free money for this simple reason: We’re all gonna have to pay it back. So If I’m going to have to pay back a loan, it softens the blow if I actually GET the money I’m paying back.
I honestly wonder how many people used their “stimulus” to buy firearms.
I bet it was far more than we would even guess. People tend to buy firearms when there is a lot of public anxiety and strife.
Don’t need it, so half to my church and half to the Trump Campaign
We’re almost done paying off the house so I can retire.

I didn’t think we’d get another check (although I still haven’t gotten the first one), but after today’s market massacre, I’m not so sure.
