Seattle police say they have received reports of armed guards and potential extortion in a self-declared autonomous zone that spans several blocks and includes a now-closed precinct.
Weve heard, anecdotally, reports of citizens and businesses being asked to pay a fee to operate within this area. This is the crime of extortion. If anyone has been subjected to this, we need them to call 911, Assistant Chief of Police Deanna Nollette said on Wednesday.
Demonstrations within the autonomous zone have been mostly peaceful, with no reports of violence, but police say armed guards have been surrounding the perimeter of the region and residents who live within the boundaries are "forced to show ID to prove you belong there," a law enforcement official told Fox News.

Call 911?
Is this the Babylon Bee?
Sedition, insurrection, assault, kidnapping a whole section of an American city isn't enough to get the notice of the police but them asking for ID is just racist and over the top.
As I recall the media had no problem with Clinton”s military style actions in Waco. Were there any survivors?
“Where is Janet Reno when you need her?”
Just had a conversation on this very topic. After what a democrat administration did in Waco it is not difficult to imagine what they would do if a right wing group closed off a six block section of a major US city. Look what a local democrat administration did in Philadelphia in 1985 in response to MOVE.
What a feckless and leaderless group the republicans are.
The Mayor and Governor are both complicit.
We are a federal system.
In addition, allow them to fester for a while, and become an example for all.
Thanks NoLibZone.
“What happens when an armed citizen within the zone begins picking off the protesters?”
Nothing, because it ain’t happening. All these armed to the teeth conservatives are all talk and no show.

All complaints to the police are “anecdotal,” so why use the word?

This is the Mafia on steroids.

“And, an officer will be there asap!”
Waiting to hear that they are making the homeless work for food.
Such a nice store. Be a shame if something happened to it.
How many republicans do you think live in this homo haven portion of Seattle that ANTIFA has occupied?
At the moment, this is hurting democrats. The longer this goes on with none of the democrats saying anything, the more it shows how they can’t be trusted to protect people from angry mobs.
If Trump sent military in now, without the governor’s request, the whole story would be how Trump crushed a “peaceful protest”.
It’s time to wait for the people being oppressed, and their government, to make the move. Yesterday, the governor was pleading ignorance to the whole thing, and everybody is mocking him for it. He is going to have to act at some point, he might have to ask Trump for national guard troops.
They are documenting. Their mayor won’t let them do anything. So they are hopefully going to start reporting the dozens of crimes each day that the mayor is allowing to be perpetrated on innocent citizens.
Look what they tried to do at the Bundy ranch.
Show trials and executions are on their way as soon as they think they can get away with it. Which might be soon the way things are going right now.
The FBI is very busy right now—chasing White Nationalists through the woods in Idaho....
