Seattle police say they have received reports of armed guards and potential extortion in a self-declared autonomous zone that spans several blocks and includes a now-closed precinct.
“We’ve heard, anecdotally, reports of citizens and businesses being asked to pay a fee to operate within this area. This is the crime of extortion. If anyone has been subjected to this, we need them to call 911,” Assistant Chief of Police Deanna Nollette said on Wednesday.
Protesters calling to defund the police and make sweeping reforms to law enforcement tactics have declared a six-block region -- spanning 13th Avenue past 11th Avenue, near Cal Anderson Park, and from East Olive Street to East Pike Street -- the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ).

Sounds like the Seattle police are just kicking back and taking calls. Why don’t they get off their useless asses and save their jobs.
So, What happens when a business owner within the Socialist Utopia calls 911 with an extortion claim?
Do the police go into the area? File a report? Attempt to make an arrest withing the commune?
Is this a joke?
But hey, that’d be a fun FIOA request, a log of calls to 911 made from within the zone taken over by terrorists. Then go to court and get a court order requiring them to respond when they don't.
They are doing what their police chief and the Mayor are telling them to do.
They are not a separate entity such as a Sheriffs department, elected separately.

In a way it is. For years now the republicans have been the party of laws and the democrats the party of emotion (feeling).
When people need something and the dems need votes, they figure out a way to give it to them, normally spending someone else’s money, and taking credit. Everything they do is innovative and kowtowing to the people they are, literally, buying. And they do it in a manner to make their enemies, never opponents, look like they were wrong for not doing it or already should have, whether they did or not. Meantime the people being bought don’t understand the price they actually pay. And the keepers move so fast with one topic after the other that the one a month ago is already forgotten. (Seen anything on the impeachment proceedings, either party?) Good business practice, unless you’re honest.
I’m not young, I can remember the simple times of the late 40’s and 50’s. If you compare them to now when you need a lawyer to determine if you can cross the street, was the progressiveness good. Sure, we put a man on the moon. So? All we did was litter it. When you compare that to the innovations that just cost us more money, sweat, and pain, whether it is emotional, which the libs especially want, financial, or life and limb, it gets it down to the basics of just being humane. Maybe we need some organization to be the people side of the humane society. We can’t seem to have humans save dogs and cats..maybe we can save ourselves. But the libs already thought of that, it’s called welfare. And the humans are still in cages being kept barely alive. How high are we on the food chain? Or are some in political parties higher because they can through pandering? Vote in November, whether it is allowed to count or not when you are cancelled by a dead guy or some people that crossed state lines in three or four states to erase you because they have mail in ballots in half a dozen names. Don’t you just love the progressive state? Even lying and cheating is made easier thanks to innovation. We’re back to the correct level on the food chain as our collective IQ drops again.
Yeah, it’s a joke cause if you don’t laugh at it, knowing you can do very little and stay alive, you’ll die comfortable rather than mass hysteria. And we already have drugs for that...but not legal without a prescription. Unless you are in a cop free zone. Seen the guys doing windshield repair? You can stop at the other tents and pick up about anything direct from the cartels. Don’t miss the grand opening sale. And I’m betting the governors will figure out a way to allow them to open, whether it means anything or not. The pot shops remained open, where do you draw the line? Be safe.
