U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents can no longer make civil immigration arrests in and around New York state courthouses, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.
Legal aid attorneys and immigrant rights organizations had called for an end to the practice in recent years.
The immigration raids jeopardized public safety and discouraged victims and witnesses from reporting crimes and participating in the legal process, according to Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. He and New York Attorney General Letitia James filed the lawsuit against ICE and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to end the practice.

It would seem that not collecting these ‘immigrants’ (you know, the murders and rapists, etc.) would jeopardize public safety.
And . . . we know that with many examples.
A federal judge cannot set aside federal law like that.
Will be overturned on appeal by the 2nd circuit.
A federal judge bans law a true democrat.
No jurisdiction whatsoever to make this ruling, yet the leftist swine did it anyway. Sorry Mr. Franklin, it appears we can’t keep this republic.
Right now laws have been suspended apparently.
We keep saying that and they keep doing it, in spite of the fact they can't do it. If only Barr could find a single way these insurrectionists are breaking any law at all, but alas he can't.
Barr defenders need to look seriously at his lack of progress in bringing anyone to justice at least before Trump and the Republic is gone.
That makes sense.
With all the Obama judges and Clinton judges on the bench, what would make anyone think that federal law would apply in federal courthouses?
Where are the reports of legal aliens / citizens who fail to report their illegal alien family members? That is the test that is missing with respect to character or morality they face when becoming a citizen.
This should be part of a Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement bill, missing since 1986 ONE TIME amnesty. The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, missing since 1986 goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.
Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport, and remove colonizadors from our welfare rolls.
Judge Jed Rakoff is another Bill Clinton appointee. Has anyone else noticed that the bad judges are either Bill Clinton or Barack Obama appointees. They are strictly democrats, all the way. They are the ones giving goofy decisions that are aligned with the democratic platform.
