It is the mistake of local politicians to think that FREE MONEY has no cost.
Lets go back to punch card ballots, cheap, safe, easy.
“touch screen”
everything should be paper ballot.
Oh yeah, this election is going to be very interesting...
No, two demoncrat run counties, Fulton and Dekalb, ran into problems as they have for each and every past election.
The Democrats decided to do mail-in voting this time around. so far, looks like less than 29% participation. Yeah.
I don’t know why we keep trying to re-invent the stupid voting machines.
In Virginia, we have paper ballots, you mark them, then you feed them into the machine, it tells you they were read, and you are done. The only thing I dislike is that our current machines don’t have a way to put on screen what you voted for — I’d love to see confirmation that it read my ballot correctly.
But this gives us a paper trail (the ballots are collected in the machine), and an electronic reporting, and you don’t have the problem of an electronic touchscreen selecting the wrong candidate when you touch it.
The new Georgia voting machines are a complete waste of money.
Each machine requires it’s own printer and printers out a complete piece of paper for each voter. They could condense the size and find a cheaper way to complete the process.
After you vote, you are allowed to carry your piece of paper to the voting tally machine. You could copy the QR code and find the pattern to replicate votes without anyone being the wiser.
I could go on and give other details, but someone REALLY needs to look at the current process. It has more holes than every slice of Swiss cheese in the universe.
South Carolina (Beaufort County) is the best Ive seen. You tap screen, then it PRINTS a paper ballot that you can see/check/touch then you put it in a slot that reads it. That save the paper ballots in case of a problem.
Why does a Republican run state believe it was all that important to go with a new voting system.
The paper ballots we use in my Florida county seem to scan quite well and we also end up with a paper trail.
According to the news last night, Georgia had 3 months to prepare for this election. And they still didn’t get it right.
But was that part of the plan? So it could be claimed a case of ‘systemic voter suppression’ as a black voter outside the polling place put forth.
