Chicago has long been one of the nation’s most dangerous big cities, and it seems determined to keep that distinction.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that 18 people were killed on one Sunday, May 31, “making it the single most violent day in Chicago in six decades.” Over the full weekend, “25 people were killed in the city, with another 85 wounded by gunfire.” None of these deaths or shootings involved police, so there will be no massive protests over them, no tearful commentary on cable news and social media, no white politicians wrapped in Kente cloth taking a knee for photographers.
Sadly, the only thing remarkable about the episode is that it occurred in the middle of a national discussion about policing. The political left, with a great deal of assistance from the mainstream media, has convinced many Americans that George Floyd’s death in police custody is an everyday occurrence for black people in this country, and that racism permeates law enforcement. The reality is that the carnage we witness in Chicago is what’s typical, law enforcement has next to nothing to do with black homicides, and the number of interactions between police and low-income blacks is driven by crime rates, not bias. According to the Sun-Times, there were 492 homicides in Chicago last year, and only three of them involved police.
So long as blacks are committing more than half of all murders and robberies while making up only 13% of the population, and so long as almost all of their victims are their neighbors, these communities will draw the lion’s share of police attention. Defunding the police, or making it easier to prosecute officers, will only result in more lives lost in those neighborhoods that most need protecting.

When are people going to understand that facts count for *nothing* with these people.
They are mentally ill. They cannot process facts which refute their imaginary world.
They cannot even process that there is only male and female genders.
They prefer their fantasy world. It gives them good feelz.

Liberalism demands a lack of personal accountability. That it is it in a nutshell.
They tell us that success or failure is never the fault or accomplishment of an individual. They tell us that our lives are predetermined by societal circumstance. They ignore the success stories and seek to blame others for failure.
It is a disease of denial. It is impossible to have a rational discussion when your entire worldview is fundamentally opposed to one another.
You know what “systemic racism” is? It’s how the Democrats have kept the black man dependent on government handouts and the terrible poverty in the Democrat cities. The Democrats have done this to the blacks in their cities.

I think there are big problems with policing, especially the win-at-all-costs culture of prosecutors and the propensity of governments to overlegislate. But we still need police. There will always be police. They may have gang tattoos instead of badges, but there will always be police.
The media never gives a racial breakdown of the cops who are involved in the shootings.
There was a report the other day that black people are 7 times as likely to call the police for help (probably because they are more likely to live in neighborhoods where crime is more of a problem).

And the trend holds true everywhere. It has nothing to do with jobs or money. Time preference, impulse control, future time orientation ... None of those can be fixed with spending money. They might not be fixable at all.

Only .003% of interactions with a cop result in use of deadly force- that’s against all races- considering that there are over 700,000 full time police, and 300,000,000 police encounters every year- last year there were an estimated 10,000,000 arrests and Only .003% of interactions with a cop result in use of deadly force- and only 2 unarmed black people were killed unjustifiably last year- the fact is that the police are remarkable non racist- non violent
in a study of three states, NC Louisiana, Arizona, 114,000 arrest- physical force was needed or used in less than 1% of those cases (Less than 1114 people)- in 98% of those cases where physicals force was used, only 2% showed any discernible injuries- only 22 people had any discernible injuries out of 114,000 arrests- This is an amazingly ow number considering how fiercely drunks and drug addled people and drug dealers etc fight the police in many cases-
Another stat- blacks, despite being just 13% of the population, commit over 50% of violent murders in the US- the left scream about black folks being shot at a higher rate than whites, but the fact is- they commit most of the violent crimes despite being only a fraction of the population, so of course their numbers will be higher per % of shootings- this is lost on everyone claiming that there is ‘systemic racism’ in the police force- Put it this way- in an area where the majority of people are black, say 80%, there are obviously going to be more black people arrested than whites- but the left scream racism because more black folks are arrested in that area than whites- black men have a homicide commission rate 8 times that of white folks- resulting in more arrests, and more gun confrontations with police than whites by comparison- and police are forced to answer calls to black violence far more than white violence- this isn’t because of racism, this is because of the fact that blacks are 8 times more violent than white folks- and despite being 13% of the population, commit more than 50% of the crimes- Stats are misused by the left to make it appear as though white officers single out black people for arrest because so many are arrested compared to white folks when % of population is considered-

There are over 300,000,000 encounters every year with police- the fact that very few by comparison result in death, and far fewer still result in death of unarmed black people (just 2 last year that were not justified) speaks volumes about how disciplined and careful they are-
High profile cases that results in knee jerk emotional reactions that results in riots across the country by angry black folks and race riot inciting white antifa, who use a tragedy as an excuse to riot, murder loot and burn and assault- do not paint an accurate picture of just how non racist the police really are-
