That 400 years timeline counts from the first Negro slaves brought to the American colonies in 1619. They don’t count from our nation’s birth in 1776 for purposes of talk of black oppression.

Longer than that. Slavery was practiced by several Native American tribes. So was cannibalisms.

She’s referring to the year 1619, when the first slaves apparently set foot in America. The 1619 Project ridiculously asserts that America was founded to be a slave nation because the Founders feared Great Britain would end slavery.
