Princeton Professor Eddie Glaude Jr. dismissed law-and-order policies and the war on drugs Tuesday as “phrases” and “slogans” that have been used as “racial dog whistles.”
When asked if the spate of protests following the death of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody was producing a unique political environment in the United States, Glaude told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that it was.
“I think so. It does feel different to me,” Glaude said, adding that the country is “at a crossroads.”
“For our entire lifetime we have dealt with a frame of policing that has been overdetermined by calls for law and order, by being tough on crime, about a war on drugs,” Glaude said.

Sort of like the ads for the 2 night extravaganza with okra wimpfree presiding declaring what it is ‘they’ want and what ‘their’ demands are on ALL the discovery channels. It will be missed.
He should try on bravery and see if it fits.
Bravery to go against the grain and talk about a disproportionate amount of crime by his own people and what they need to do about it. Bravery to demand that solutions come from accountability and not blaming others or making excuses. Bravery to stand as a leader evangelizing about what the future could look like.
Instead, he’s taking the easy path. The lazy path. The path that doesn’t serve those he ostensibly cares about.

I hope the professor spends the rest of his life surrounded by drug addicts and criminals.
The War on Drugs was initiated under Nixon in 1971. He knew it could be used to jail black political opposition. The first year the new drug laws went into effect, 95% of those jailed by it in NY state were black.
The War on Drugs has had a host of evil consequences. Take Spain’s road or Singapore’s, don’t waffle in between.

The absolutely best thing that might come out of this corona thing is that all these universities may lose all their indoctrination centers and the kids may start just getting a real education on line
