Amid winds of change as America confronts its race issue, a reparations resolution dismissed by many as the stuff of dreams was unanimously passed by a Chicago City Council committee Friday and is scheduled to go before the full council June 17.
The resolution would establish a “Chicago Citizens of African Descent Reparations Commission” to investigate how one of the most segregated cities in the nation could best make amends for the impact of slavery.
Up for discussion by the Committee on Human Relations Thursday, black and Latino aldermen called the resolution timely and necessary, in the aftermath of the cellphone-recorded killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis and protests that grew violent as they unfurled across the nation, triggering a collective discourse over institutional racism.
In November, the city of Evanston made history with groundbreaking legislation establishing a $10 million reparations fund to make amends to that north suburb’s black population for historic wrongs traced to racial inequities — through a cannabis sales tax.
“Today is a great day for the city of Chicago and the nation. The committee voted to address the lingering impact of injustice, cruelty, brutality and inhumanity of the Transatlantic Slave Trade on descendants of slavery,” said Willie Wilson, the former mayoral candidate and influential businessman who has funded reparations efforts in Chicago and Springfield.

Because Chicago can afford reparations, and the Hispanic, Asian, and other minority communities will love to be taxed to pay for it.
Ahhhhh....now we’re getting to the gist of it...It’s not about the cops at all. It’s about more free money.
Not making amends for ‘the impact of slavery’.
I had nothing to do with it.
Especially not doing it over ‘white guilt,’ period.
It is all about buying votes and keeping them on the democratic plantation.
The state will destroy itself.

His Guest’s response was,“ it would be cheaper than a civil war”....
Think about that ...
The problem that they have is that the City of Chicago doesn’t have the money. They do have bloated pension obligations, a trashy school system to begin with, and a flashy downtown ringed by grinding poverty. Who in their right mind would move a business to Chicago? I would NOT want to own a condo in the Loop; I would imagine taxes are already sky high and they will shortly be taking off for the Moon.
With a slight detailed correction:

Who couldn’t have seen this coming? And it won’t be just Chicago. Biden gets elected it will be nationwide.
Chicago is broke.
The city can’t even pay all of its vendors on time.

So these brilliant Chicago’s politicians fix is to tax black people to fund their own reparation. Only the left could come up with such a scheme.
America isn’t confronting its race issue.
America is getting a one-sided lecture on white supremacy, white guilt, and systemic racism. And there will be no discussion allowed.
It will not be cheaper than a Civil War. Because a Civil War eventually ends.
I’ve been saying that blacks and whites could never peacefully coexist.
I’m starting to think that I was wrong. There seems to be no limit to white self-subjugating and self-debasement and endless appeasement in order to keep the “peace”.
there are winds of change. But it’s going in the opposite direction than they think. We look at protesters and stupid companies and stupid athletes and think there are deciding the direction of the company. The vote is ours and I think Republicans will do great.
For years media has been saying what it wants to be true. Just remember during the impeachment things they said every day
