Mitt’s angling to become savior of the Republican party by volunteering himself as a replacement GOP nominee when (in Romney’s cloud cuckoo land fantasy) Trump gets booted out sometime before the presidential election. This is a real Hail Mary play, because if that doesn’t happen, he’s toast for 2024. I saw a lot of racism as a kid in Chicago, and the arrow of hate pointed both ways. Blacks were totally misunderstood, characterized as a group instead of individuals, and were hated as a group by some people I grew up with. On the other hand, friends of mine were shot, and If I walked too far in the wrong direction, I was in significant danger in black neighborhoods. As the years passed, both human sides of that divide grew in temperament and understanding, and great progress was made.

People like Mitt have little understanding of racism and all the factors that have contributed over the years (in my opinion, Mitt has little understanding of anything substantive, but that's another issue). The Mitt's of the world are the prototypical ‘virtue signalers’, who speak in platitudes and act from a ‘safe distance’.

The greatest progress in race relations hasn't been made at universities, or in Hollywood, and definitely not in political circles. It's been made at the level of the blue collar people that the leftist elite hate. I've seen them welcome people of all backgrounds into their families, with love - as their children fell in love outside the ‘color barrier’. Much to the left’s chagrin, I believe that the religious faith of these families helped tremendously in making these transitions.

I strongly feel that the real threat to our way of life, and to peace and prosperity, are the self-proclaimed elite in societies. Mitt is one of these. He's clueless about reality, and people like him are fanning the flames of a civil war. He's just too stupid (and that truly is the correct characterization) to know it.
