Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey will seek state and federal aid to rebuild city structures following over a week of looting and rioting, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Friday.
Some 220 buildings have been damaged and require at least $55 million in repairs, the city’s Community Planning & Economic Development department said earlier this week, noting that the city was “not yet ready to produce a credible estimate.” City Council members warned that the costs will likely be far higher, while Mayor Frey said damages could reach into the “hundreds of millions.”

He can come out and do a press conference. Tell us why chauvin was working as a police officer with no restrictions with 17 complaints against him only 2 charges. Tell us exactly how we are to be certain chauvin acted with racism.

$55 million isn’t that much in the government scheme of things. The state of Minnesota could raise it easily.
And, the “oppressive police tactics” of the Minneapolis force, insofar as they weren’t just the tactics of one aggressive cop, are the responsibility of the government of Minneapolis.
Why can’t the city, or the state, pick up the tab?
Take it out of your general fund.
Me to the mayor: Stick it, Sir, and simply be grateful that you’ll probably get some benefit from the next Corona Balogna stimulus bill.
Drop dead. Perhaps you can find your $55 million by cutting your police budget. Do you want to defund the cops? There’s your money.
Raise taxes or conduct a lottery.

To his credit, da Gov’nah of Minnehahasota managed to identify the actual sources of the unrest (radical groups) early on in the Dumpster Fire, but I’m not sure how much he’s done beyond that.
Only the leftards could tell the cops to look away, hand the kids a box of matches, look dismayed when they burn the place down, and then ask daddy to pay for your stupidity. God these people suck! They parent exactly the same way.
Since you want to get rid of the police, use the money from their budget!
Ask the taxpayers of Minnesota for a bailout. They will jump right in.
