Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Friday called for the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) to be disbanded and for the city to “reimagine” public safety after local protests over the death of resident George Floyd descended into riots and looting.
“The Minneapolis Police Department has proven themselves beyond reform,” Omar wrote on social media. “It’s time to disband them and reimagine public safety in Minneapolis.”
The Minnesota Democrat then thanked Minneapolis City Council member Steve Fletcher for voicing his support the measure in a TIME op-ed.

After they disband the police, they will replace them with party-controlled cadres labeled “Militia”. I mean why reinvent the wheel when the Bolsheviks have provided the model? The new militia will concentrate less on property crimes (after all property is theft) and focus more on ‘hate’ crimes, those with low ‘social scores’, etc.

Just what do the people espousing disbanding police forces think will ensue? And what do they envision as replacing them? Anything? Or will it spontaneously cause a kumbaya moment and suddenly all will be living in peaceful harmony? There are predators and miscreants out there, and I for one am damn glad we have police forces to deal with them.
And when someone comes to beat the sh*t out of her (which is well-deserved and long overdue), who is she going to call?!
Start by responding to theft, property damage, etc. calls only to take a picture or two, notate yep your car was stolen. Case closed as unresolved. Have a nice day, bye.
It’s time to eject Minnesota from the union. Barring that, cordon off all of the Metropolitan Council counties (Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington, Dakota, Scott, Carver, Anoka, add Sherburne and Wright County for good measure to make sure Hennepin County is blocked off).
Please Minneapolis. Be our test case for a police-free city.
