I still say they will all walk in the end. The perp was fighting tooth and nail at every opportunity he had. That is why they kept him pinned down in a hold that the officers were trained to use in this situation. The perp did not die because of the knee on his neck. He died due to drugs, medical issues and his own resisting arrest actions. Just my opinion.
“I still say they will all walk in the end.”
If you haven’t heard the audio with Floyd still in the car, and it is allowed at trial, I am somewhat in agreement, except that judgie will likely have to impose some sort of sentence on Chauvin “to keep the peace”.
I agree.
I could see this as an October Surprise.
Suppose they hold the cops on murder and abetting charges.
Then in September after the conventions but before the debates, the prosecutor drops the charges against the rookies. More protests ensue. The candidates are asked about it by the MSM during the debates and the MSM twists President Trump's answers.
Then, in the third week of October the prosecutor drops the charges against Chauvin, too. Then the riots resume.
Then, America goes to the polls.

And you expressed it well.
I think Floyd would have lived if it weren't for that neck hold. Which is just my opinion and I admit to being no medical expert. BUT, he also would have lived had he not been full of drugs and booze, in my opinion.
In other words, it was the combination of all those factors that caused Floyd's death as I see it.
I do think that the practice of knees on necks is probably something they should stop as a matter of course. A cop has no way of knowing what a suspect has consumed, or even what medical problems a perp might have.
There has to be a better way.
And for the record, and I said it on another thread, I believe that senior cop would have done the same thing had Floyd been a white person.
In other words, I don't think it was a racist thing.
I fully understand why they needed to restrain Floyd. He was a big dude, and clearly under the influence of something serious. I think most cops would be taking precautions as if it was PCP. In this case it was a speedball, but you want to be careful with that, too.
What is harder to explain is why Chauvin lacked sufficient situational awareness to realize that Floyd had arrested about six minutes into the situation. Maybe he was concerned about the trainees interactions with a possibly hostile crowd. Dunno.
I’m expecting the defense to bring up all of those points, and even with the corrupt Ellison as prosecutor, this isn’t a slam-dunk case.
