Yes, we live in the lynch mob era.

That’s my take, especially when one asked should we role him over, is he having delirium? However, the newbies should have known that pressure for so long could cause death. I think they will be charged with involuntary manslaughter. The 19 year cop - 3rd degree murder. He knew better.

now this breaks my heart....of course, they would not have done anything. Hell, they wouldn’t have had a clue as to what was normal. Even if they were questioning it in their mind, 3 or 4 days on the job they would have never intervened.

I fully understand why they needed to restrain Floyd. He was a big dude, and clearly under the influence of something serious. I think most cops would be taking precautions as if it was PCP. In this case it was a speedball, but you want to be careful with that, too.

What is harder to explain is why Chauvin lacked sufficient situational awareness to realize that Floyd had arrested about six minutes into the situation. Maybe he was concerned about the trainees interactions with a possibly hostile crowd. Dunno.

I’m expecting the defense to bring up all of those points, and even with the corrupt Ellison as prosecutor, this isn’t a slam-dunk case.

My best guess is they had time to run his rap sheet and saw his previous violent offense[s]. Still, they had Floyd cuffed in custody and no matter what he was on,, 4 cops are enough to control him. Been there done that with a large drunk Marine. It's difficult, but can be done without the knee to the neck. Just got to tussle enough to get the leg irons on if they still want to fight even being handcuffed. That Marine apologized to us the next day by order from his Commanding Officer.

I could vote guilty on *some* kind of charge against the kneeling cop but not on *any* charge filed against the others.

Fentanyl *and* meth are things that a guy with a bum ticker (which he had) should *not* get anywhere near. The cop was truly negligent...the dead guy was stupid beyond belief.

Yes, careers ended before they began. The senior man tells you not to turn him but wait for the ambulance. That’s what they tell you to do in many cases where there is no obvious traumatic injury, like copius bleeding. Let the emts deal with it, don’t break someone’s spine or even a limb making them more comfortable or getting them out of a not at risk vehicle. Chauvin obviously a different situation. But I doubt any of the three thought he was trying to kill him. I’m not sure of that either though he had information to know something was wrong. He felt when the resistance ended.

As you note, they had Floyd cuffed in custody. That's a biggie, they were responsible for his well being.
