The U.S. unemployment rate unexpectedly dropped to 13.3 percent in May, down from a record high in April as the nation's economy began to gradually reopen from the coronavirus lockdown.

I don't dare hope for an unemployment rate under 4% by November, but getting it under 6% or so should make this a landslide.
America is coming back, #jobsnotmobs
The great President Trump will address the jobs report, I think at 10am
The economy is irrelevant.
Voter Fraud will be massively historic...and Trump's ONLY opponent.
Stock futures up.
No one month does not a trend make but the gloom and doom after the FORCED layoffs was bound to quickly reverse when the lock down ended.
You can expect the bigger numbers to be at the beginning of the reversal and smaller as we move on through the year.
This is a gut punch for the Liberals because they depended on an extended recovery with accompanying bad news about how many YEARS it will take for the economy to bounce back.
If we see these numbers next month and for the July report the Administrations prophesy of a record setting GDP number for the 3rd quarter will be realized and at the worst possible times for the Liberals.
Winning!
Krugman must be in mourning.
In addition to the jobs report, I hope he announces the mass arrests of the leftwing communists/terrorists responsible for the latest chapter of their coup d'état...including the leaders. (I doubt it...but it would be a good sign justice prevails in America)
Due to the nature of his job, one of my brothers filed for unemployment in April. He expects a 50 hour work week for the next two months.
Long ago I stated that 8 or 9% unemployment is about right for America. The reason being is that is about the percentage of people who truly don’t deserve jobs. They simply don’t work and are actually counterproductive in the workplace. Anecdotal evidence of this can be seen every time you receive poor customer service and you say to yourself, “How did that person ever get a job?”. Since I stated the 8 or 9% figure, I have added one caveat. The actual percentage may slightly differ. It is dependent on an economy that can fully employ productive individuals that are seeking employment. Of course there is no measure or statistic for this, otherwise my bloviating could be proven as something greater than pure conjecture. We certainly don’t want that. </sarc>
Ppp loan and EIDL loans working.
WINNING!!!
we are even open more today here in FL. Our Gov has done a great job.
"Economists surveyed by Refinitiv expected the report to show that unemployment ROSE to 19.8 percent in May and that employers LOST 8 million jobs."
These geniuses weren't even in the same galaxy as the truth.
I imagine their next jobs will be political polling.
It's largely why the DOW is up nearly 760 and climbing this morning.
Expect the panicked liberal news outlets to immediately accuse the Administration of gaming the numbers.
oh no the Democrats will keep their areas on more lockdown now.
“I imagine their next jobs will be political polling.”
Or perhaps that was their previous job?
