The Soviets implemented this. They replaced ‘police’ with ‘militia’ firmly under Party control. I’m seeing a lot of parallels between today’s left and the Bolshies of old. The rants against “fascists”, property, the police and a demand that all publicly state support for the party line.

Their ilk is also against the death penalty, bonds to get out of jail, and prison.
